PORT MELBOURNE, Australia—Blackmagic Design today introduced its next generation Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 with adjustable touchscreen, larger battery and optional electronic viewfinder.
The new model, which replaces the existing 6K model, offers the same Gen 5 color science as the high-end URSA Mini Pro 12K and offers image quality improvements such as accurate skin tone and color production. colors true to every shot, the company said.
The camera supports a new 12-bit dynamic gamma curve to allow more color data to be captured in highlights and shadows. Blackmagic Design has also released its 7.9 Camera Software Update for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera models, including the 4K, 6K and 6K Pro. New version offers updated UI, support for focus assist intensity adjustments via sliders, custom preset and LUT retention after software and performance updates improved lens and autofocus, he said.
