GREENSBORO, NC — The Carleton College baseball team has won the America Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Achievement Award for the seventh consecutive year.
Programs coached by ABCA members were honored with this year’s award if they posted a combined team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the entire school year. In the 2021-22 school year, the Knights posted a 3.55 GPA, the highest mark in the program since the inception of the ABCA Team Academic Award for the 2015-16 school year. .
The Knights are the only MIAC program to be recognized every year the award has existed, and Carleton, ranked No. 9 in the latest U.S. News College Rankings, is the only top-10-ranked national liberal arts college to have obtained the seven ABCA academics. price.
There were 929 baseball programs in all three NCAA divisions (DI, D-II, and D-III), and Carleton is one of only 35 schools to earn this distinction each season with only 18 Division III programs found on this short list. .
Earlier this summer, 15 Knights roster members were named to the All-MIAC Academic List (min. 3.50 cumulative GPA).
