Tehran held a meeting to discuss Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani’s strategy in dealing with regional wars and US failures.
The crime-committing event as the country marks the second anniversary of the assassination of Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani has highlighted the commander as an extra-national figure whose strategic attitudes have foiled US plots in West Asia.
Panelists believed Lieutenant General Soleimani to be a man of wisdom who had his own theories and could make a very good connection between the battlefield and diplomacy.
Lieutenant-General Soleimani was assassinated in a US drone strike near Baghdad airport on January 2, 2020 by direct order of then-US President Donald Trump. During the terrorist attack, Iraqi PMU deputy commander Abu Mahadi al-Mandis and a number of bodyguards were also martyred.
Martyr Soleimani is known to have eliminated Daesh terrorists in Iraq in 2017. He also led major operations in Syria which led to the recapture of key areas from the terrorist group. This is why his assassination is seen as a huge loss for the region and a great victory for the terrorists and their supporters.
In view of the serious implications of the US terrorist act for international peace and stability, Iran called on the UN Security Council to hold the US and the Israeli regime responsible for planning, supporting and of the commission of such a heinous crime.
