A new show on Netflix has already made several Western New York references in the first episode alone.

Cabinet of Curiosities debuted this week on Netflix, and Western New Yorkers have already noticed so many hints that the horror anthology show is set in this realm.

“They name Williamsville and a character is holding an old Courier Express,” one person said after watching the first episode.

There is also a Bills sticker on the cupboard in the principal’s office. Appears around 10:58 of the first episode.

The mastermind filmmaker behind Cabinet of Curiosities is no stranger to Buffalo; Guillermo del Toro loves it here.

Some other del Toro projects have mentioned Buffalo, including Crimson Peak and Nightmare Alley.

There must be a reason why he continues to rely on the City of Good Neighbors to carry out his productions.

Cabinet of Curiosities was created on October 25. It is an entirely fictional Netflix series, similar to Twilight Zone or Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Two more episodes will drop each of the next few days, totaling 8 episodes.
