Players are selected by CoSIDA members, and to be considered, players must accumulate a cumulative GPA between 3.30 and 4.00 with at least second-year athletic status, while being a starter or reserve key for their respective team.
The selection marks the 31st times a bear has earned a CoSIDA All-District Wink, becoming the 20e different player to do it.
Bower, a junior accounting major, carries a 3.81 GPA. As a starter in 45 games this season, she had 33 hits with three doubles, two triples and two homers. Bower has been an integral part of Baylor’s offense this season, playing every game as a designated player.
All-District Academic Teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. District 7 covers Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Academic winners from all first-team districts qualify for the CoSIDA All-America Academic Team ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America winners will be selected next month.
