BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – The Southeastern Conference announced its 2021-22 Winter Academic Honor Roll, with recognition of 50 University of Missouri student-athletes. The 50 student-athletes marks the second straight year for Mizzou Athletics with 50 or more winter sports athletes honored.
The 2021-22 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll includes the sports of basketball, equestrian, gymnastics, and swimming and diving. It is based on grades from the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2021 quarters. A total of 800 student-athletes from all 14 SEC institutions are recognized on this year’s list. The full 2021-22 SEC Honor Roll can be found here. Any student-athlete who competes in an SEC championship sport is eligible for nomination. Selection criteria include a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or a 3.0 for the previous academic year. Athletes must have completed 24 semester hours of academic credit toward a degree at the nominating institution.
The five eligible programs sponsored by Mizzou were recognized, with women’s swimming and diving leading the way with 19 athletes, followed by men’s swimming and diving with 15. Gymnastics had 10 athletes, scoring the most for the team since 2018 .
