FRISCO, Texas – Three HBU cross country runners, Jessica rabius, Ben drew and Stephane Aguilar, have been named Academic All-Southland Conference, the conference bureau announced Wednesday morning.
Rabius takes first-team honors to be added to his entire first-team conference award won by placing fourth at the SLC Championships. Rabius then followed this performance with a 28e place showing at the NCAA South Central Regional. The graduate student enjoys a cumulative grade point average of 3.94 in class.
Drew, also a graduate student, is a finance student with a perfect 4.0 GPA who also won a first team selection. He was also the winner of the Conference’s First Team All-Star due to a fifth place finish at the SLC Championships. At NCAA South Central Regional, Drew was the top HBU finisher and placed 33e globally.
Aguilar is an all-SLC second-team academic selection, with a GPA of 3.23 as a major in finance, having won third-team laurels while in conference. The senior finished 14e overall at the SLC Championships and established a new PR at the NCAA South Central Regional.
The academic teams for all Southland Conference conferences are elected by the league’s head coaches, sports information directors and academic advisers.
